    -         The nature of  "crises" and how they can arise in a professional services firm
    -         Management practices firms can adopt to minimise  the scope for crises arising
    -         Procedures to minimise the impact of  crises on the firm’s various stakeholders (including clients and employees)
    -         Where to turn for support when a crisis “breaks”
    -         Managing the media (having regard to their needs and methods)

    Outcome:  Delegates will be better able to:

    -         Advise clients on the  practical steps needed to minimise the occurrence and impact of crises
    -         Position their own firms to avoid crises and the potential for negative impact on their  stakeholders

  • Legal Services Board: The story so far

    This workshop updates participants on the forthcoming regulatory changes overseen by the LSB including those proposed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board.  The objectives are to make participants aware of these changes and to be in a position to consider and advise both internally and externally on these issues.  As the LSB is the key regulator their views and perspective on the new regulatory regime are important for all involved in this area.

    Outcome: Participants will be fully up to date on developments in relation to the regulatory regime and on the LSB’s perspective as how it and the various other regulators including the SRA and BSB are responding to the challenges created by the Legal Services Act.

  • Partnership Disputes: Arbitration and Mediation

    This workshop informs attendees and encourages debate on the relative advantages and disadvantages of using arbitration and mediation respectively to resolve partnership disputes (particularly professional practice disputes), what can be achieved with each method that perhaps cannot be achieved with the other (or Court proceedings), common experiences and pitfalls, and why mediation works.

    Outcome:  Leaves attendees with a better understanding of the relative merits of resolving a dispute through Court proceedings, arbitration and mediation, and some of the pitfalls and problems that can arise.
